Futures.
Yesterday I made my way to Sheffield university, which was pleasantly surprising, and not too busy and chaotic.
but, more importantly...I found my new favourite shop: COW.
Unfortunately, I didn't have my bankcard with me, but I did manage to pick up a few little things, which was lovely. I have now added my vintage acid wash shorts and my super cheap jumper to my wardrobe, and emptied about 50 things to make some more room.
I didn't get what I was looking for though, which was a prom dress. I think, if I don't find one in the next month, I'm going to have to make it, which will be horrifically stressful during exam time, but oh well, it'll be worth it.
Time for some English Literature.

for we are like trees in the snow
There is something pagan in me that I cannot shake off. In short, I deny nothing, but doubt everything. - Lord Byron
It has been an eventful week.
Introducing Freja Beha Erichsen, possibly my new favourite person.
I stumbled across her whilst searching for someone that had a tattoo similar to the one I wanted, and I've been following her ever since, she really is quite cool.
I got the tattoo done on Saturday, and it was surprisingly pain-free, although an allergic reaction to the tape did cause a bit of pain, but oh well. May the addiction begin. I've already got a rather large list of potential ink, including that beautiful little swallow that I've been chasing down.
Other than that, I've spent most of my week pottering around not really doing much with my little life, although I received some good news on Saturday from my mother who has volunteered to pay for my break in Paris - lovely stuff.
Au revoir, for now :)

Alice in Wonderland
I was so busy moaning about my appearance that I forgot to mention the best part of my weekend - Friday.
So, I arrived at Stevenage train station at approximately 5.23, greeted by my best best best friend, miss Amie Louise Bell. With a two hour wait ahead of us, we head down to F&B's for some spagbol, dalek balls and maybe just a few margaritas. And then, there was AIW.
Well, I think it was surprising. I think we all knew that Burton could never produce a masterpiece under the control of Disney. The constraints were heavy, and Burton's style conflicts so much with disney's that it was never really going to come out well. Burton's background in animation really came to light, with spellbinding forests and creatures. HBC's acting was sublime, and of course Johnny Depp, although given way too much screen time, was excellent, with one of the most convincing scottish accents I have ever heard.
Other than that, it was a mish mash of good and terrible.
That'll teach disney to repeat mistakes. You go, Timothy!

Friday & Failure
Don’t you just hate it when you look in the mirror and realise that you look disgusting?
getting ready to go out, about to finish off my face with some lovely, new, very expensive fake eyelashes, and it happened. The eyelashes refused to go on properly. An hour later and I had one on, 30 minutes later I didn't have any on. My eyelashes were covered in glue and my eye make up had rubbed off to reveal a horrible reaction to the glue, resulting in my plans evaporating, and my companions :( making me not just a hideous person, but also a bad friend.
that's my moan.
good blog post coming up soon.

Sunday Night.
'Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere' - Albert Einstein
So, it's Sunday night and the weekend is over.
for the first time in a long time, I've only a small amount of work to do :)
I suppose I should go and put some clothes on now,
au revoir!

hello again :)
"Life has been some combination of fairy-tale coincidence and joie de vivre and shocks of beauty together with some hurtful self-questioning"
Sylvia Plath
So, I'm sitting here attempting to construct a critical analysis of another shitty 'love poem', and I'm struggling slightly. Not because I don't have anything to say about the poem, but because it needs to be handwritten. This has come as a bit of a shock to me as I always considered myself to be one of those people who don't really let go of the classic things such as reading and handwriting things...but I'm finding it surprisingly difficult to not type it all out, plan it, rearrange it and copy and paste various bits all over the place.
Once again I'm doing that thing where I say to myself 'I wish I'd carried on writing my journal' and I'll probably end up writing another one for about a week, then soon I won't be bothered again.
but still, on the bright side, I've got myself a lovely new bag, for just fifty little pounds :)
this is the last expensive thing I'm buying this month, but it's adorable, and I love it :) :)
so, I now need to return to hand cramp and getting frustrated about handwriting a massive essay on 'love poetry'
ah, the good times :)

ah, it's been so long! :)
so, a little update is in order I believe.
exams are over and so is maths A2:)
I'm still without a job (but not for long) and pining over Edinburgh, despite the fact that it's been nearly a week since they decided they didn't want me.
Also, I went to Poland, which was lovely. And I guess turning 18 was okay too :)

a little bit of ol' pooland for you:)
so, I was just sitting here with the second cup of coffee (for some strange reason I'm ridiculously tired at the moment) attempting to do my final piece of coursework (ever!) when I thought that maybe it was time to procrastinate - and where better than here :)
au revoir!
